EYECARE EYECARE

A sight test is a vital health check - it's not simply to see whether you need visual correction or not.

A thorough eye examination will not only reveal the health of your eyes, it will also provide important information about your general health.

In addition to checking for cataracts, glaucoma, colour and field of vision, our optometrists will look for signs of other health problems, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. In fact, an eye examination can often pick up these problems before the symptoms become apparent to you or a doctor, so you can benefit from early treatment.

You can always be assured of the very best eye care from our professionals, but for added peace of mind, we employ a full time optometrist. This means that you can rest assured that should you have any concerns, or just want a quick chat, you are guaranteed to see the same friendly face time and time again, and the same one that knows your history!

THE TEST THE TEST

We recommend that you have a thorough eye examination every 1-2 years.

Some eye tests are free

Whilst we charge for our highly professional private eye examinations, there are a number of concessions available.

You may qualify for a free eye examination:

-If you are aged 60 or over

            -If you are under 16

-If you suffer from diabetes or glaucoma

-If an immediate family member suffers glaucoma (and you are above 40 years of age)

-If you claim benefits, Income Support or Income based Jobseekers Allowance
-If you receive Pension Credit guarantee credit or Tax Credit and are named on a valid NHS Tax credit exemption certificate

-If you are a full time student aged 16-18

If you qualify for any of the above, evidence must now be provided to support your claim.
